Coming to France with Air France

Air France is offering spectators traveling to France for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games the opportunity to contribute to the purchase of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Produced from non-fossil fuel resources, the SAF selected by Air France reduce CO₂ emissions by at least 75% over the entire life cycle compared to fossil kerosene.

For the spectators travelling to France during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and choosing to contribute to the purchase of SAF, Air France will match their contribution, doubling its impact. This will automatically apply to all bookings for travel between 18 July and 9 September 2024 to destinations in mainland France, as well as French Polynesia.

Travelling in France with SNCF

As an Official Supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, SNCF is helping the Organising Committee to fulfil its ambition of organising a more responsible event by enabling spectators and visitors to travel sustainably by train.

Travelling between France and other countries in Europe

  • SNCF provides rail links to eight other countries in Europe: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Find out all about these routes – cities served, number of trains per day, journey time, carriers, etc. – on the SNCF website.
  • It should be noted that these international trains will be available for booking during the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in November 2023 for services to London, January 2024 for services to Belgium, the Netherlands and Amsterdam, and February 2024 for other destinations.

Travelling in mainland France

During the Paris 2024 Games, the timetables for certain sports sessions will not allow for a return journey by train on the same day. Paris 2024 recommends that spectators involved in early morning and/or late afternoon sessions take care when booking their accommodation and transport.

  • Individuals from non-EU countries must meet specific conditions according to prevailing regulations for entry into the Schengen area.

  • From today, you can find the first key information to prepare your arrival on the website.

In September 2023, an initial e-mail was sent to you to help you prepare for your visit.

Subsequent e-mails will be sent on a regular basis, particularly in 2024.

A Spectator's Guide and an official Paris 2024 mobile application will be released in spring 2024 to help you prepare.

  • To ensure you have the best experience, Paris 2024 recommends arriving at the competition venue 1.5 hours before the start of the session.
