Visa rules

Citizens of certain countries need to apply for a visa to enter France. This official government website will tell you whether you need a visa and – if you do – guide you through every step of the visa application process.

Entry requirements

Respective visa requirements aside, citizens of non-Schengen countries must meet the entry requirements set out in the applicable European and French regulations. A full list of entry requirements is available on this official government website.

Covid-19 restrictions

Travellers to France can find a list of the Covid rules applicable to them on the official website of the French Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories. These rules are subject to change, so you should check the website regularly.

  • Individuals from non-EU countries must meet specific conditions according to prevailing regulations for entry into the Schengen area.

  • From today, you can find the first key information to prepare your arrival on the website.

In September 2023, an initial e-mail was sent to you to help you prepare for your visit.

Subsequent e-mails will be sent on a regular basis, particularly in 2024.

A Spectator's Guide and an official Paris 2024 mobile application will be released in spring 2024 to help you prepare.

  • To ensure you have the best experience, Paris 2024 recommends arriving at the competition venue 1.5 hours before the start of the session.
