Morbihan
Xavier Castel will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s his story:
Xavier has been an athlete since childhood, and his world revolves around cycling. Every milestone in his life – whether it’s a birthday or a significant event, like his wedding – somehow features this inexhaustible passion. Xavier never misses the chance to share it with those around him, and has passed his love of cycling down to his children, using his great sporting mindset to encourage them and allow them to progress at their own pace.
His involvement with the Boucles Guégonnaises association in Morbihan is exemplary, and he works hard to promote equal opportunities, helping men, women and people with disabilities to participate in sport. He will be attending the Paris 2024 Games with his family, aware of the importance of this once-in-a-lifetime event. “Don't limit your challenges, challenge your limits” is a maxim that sums up a mindset he strives to adopt every day, whether in his family, professional or community life. For Xavier, carrying the Olympic Torch will be an opportunity to represent every sports club volunteer who work behind the scenes to uncover the champions of tomorrow.
