Virginie Verrouil

Virgine Verrouil will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

After a 15-year journey through gymnastics within a sports-study programme, Virginie has devoted the last decade to promoting cheerleading in France and its representation on the international scene. She came in fifth in the European Championship, alongside her 23 teammates, and ninth in the World Championship in the 2022/2023 season. As an active member of the Paris Cheer club, she also serves as an assistant coach at specific events. As a result of her dedication, she has run cheerleading camps in multiple French cities, helping to spread the sport as a whole. The Olympic Committee recognised cheerleading in a momentous leap forward for this sport and its athletes, who still dream of one day seeing it become an Olympic discipline.

Virginie is a true sports fanatic who intends to soak up every drop of the Paris 2024 adventure. She is a spectator in various sports, but she also takes part regularly in the Paris 2024 challenges. Who better than a cheerleader to get people fired up over the Games?
