Vincent Dubois will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

Vincent has been a sports and table tennis enthusiast for 40 years. His commitment to sport has enabled him to become what he is today: a team manager, husband, father, friend and sportsman involved in the voluntary sector. This sporting history (French university team event champion and senior FSGT champion, team champion in the Nationale 2 division) has also influenced his career path through the sporting values of commitment, competitiveness whilst respecting opponents, hard work and team spirit. His involvement with associations as a player in local life and advocate for the promotion of sport, particularly among young people, intensified during his studies at the STAPS institute, and since 1993 it has continued to grow.

He has been a key figure in the Fondettes club’s rise to the Nationale 2 division, working as a volunteer coach for the club’s youngsters and holding a position on the club’s committee to support promotion of the sport. He was also a driving force behind the creation of the women’s section and the “sport & disability” section. Following several participations in the French veterans’ championship, in July 2024, he will take part in the veterans’ world championships in Italy to keep the flame of his sporting passion alive and continue to inspire young people to join him. For him, becoming an Olympic Torchbearer is a wonderful opportunity and he draws great pride from participating on the Olympic movement, continuing to promote sport and reinforcing the message conveyed by his club’s sporting values.
