Valérie Ruetsh will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:

Valérie is the headmistress of the Lina Ritter nursery school. She has been the driving force behind the six Olympic classes in Village-Neuf, Alsace, for over 5 years, promoting this label with teaching ability, passion, originality and sense for a challenge. Valérie coordinates sports and educational activities throughout the year, enabling pupils to discover a range of disciplines.

She is committed to promoting inclusion and has set up partnerships with specialist establishments. During Olympic and Paralympic Week, Valérie incorporates Olympic values into her core curriculum, demonstrating originality by using the Games as a common thread for activities such as the carnival. Her application for an educational mission focusing on peace and friendship at the Paralympic Games has received plenty of support, as she is a driving force within the educational community and works to pass on the Olympic legacy. Her commitment has made her an inspirational figure for pupils and those involved in education, both locally and nationally.
