Sandrine Ricousse will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s her story:
Sport has always played a central role in Sandrine’s life. She initially spent 21 years playing handball at club level, then turned to club-level running 15 years ago. For Sandrine, sport is far more than just a physical activity; it contributes to her mental and physical well-being. It also provides her with a vehicle for social interaction, allowing her to develop a strong team spirit and widen her social circle.
Her passion for sport has also led Sandrine to become involved in voluntary work from an early age, following in her parents’ footsteps, who have themselves been working as volunteers for over 30 years. As a member of the board of her athletics club, Sandrine plays an active role in organising sporting competitions such as road races and trails. She also helps to support people with reduced mobility, taking part in half marathons and races such as the 28-kilometre Tour de l'île de Groix. For Sandrine, carrying the Olympic Torch in Brittany will be a source of immense pride and a unique opportunity to take part in this great sporting celebration.
