Rounak Sahni 

Rounak Sahni will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

For five years, Rounak ran a non-profit organisation aimed at mobilising and empowering the younger generation of his country to create a positive social impact. This initiative gave rise to a number of large-scale events, including cleanliness campaigns, visits to retirement homes and orphanages, and road safety campaigns. One of the most important and successful events of this period was “Sports for All”, a sports event over five days that brought together 150 young adults.

The objective was to provide a platform to more than 500 underprivileged and marginalised children to help them fulfil their potential thanks to sport. They were able to showcase their talent in a variety of disciplines such as athletics, basketball, cricket, football, volleyball and other local Indian sports. Thanks to much sponsoring from the world of sport, more than 70 talented children have been able to go on to pursue their passion at a professional level, benefiting from fully funded vocational training.
