Oksana Gutierrez

Oksana Gutierrez will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Sport holds a significant place in Oksana's life and has been a constant companion throughout her journey. In 2013, Oksana became tetraplegic within hours after her spinal cord got inflamed. Despite this, she engages in CrossFit at the gym and has even taken part in competitions. Additionally, Oksana leads an entrepreneurial project in interior decoration and real estate to assist people who need to adapt or modify their homes.

Oksana's journey, filled with experiences and challenges, illustrates her strength, energy and perseverance. Much like Le Patis-Fraux rehabilitation centre, she advocates for greater inclusion and autonomy for people with disabilities, both in sports and in their professional lives. She motivates others to engage in community initiatives for a more promising and cohesive tomorrow.
