Mireille Meynol

Mireille Meynol will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Mireille started dancing at the tender age of 5 and later found her calling when she joined a swimming club. She has also embraced activities such as fitness routines, posture stretching and hiking, which she continues to practise regularly in retirement.

She has demonstrated her civic commitment through the launch of a tennis club and later an underwater diving club, where she served as a dedicated secretary. Nowadays, she sits on the board of a club that focuses on promoting sport for health. Mireille continues to beat the drum for sports for all, from the young to the not-so-young, taking the long-term view in her sporting engagement.
