Paris, Day 2
Margaux Baratier will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:
During her teenage years, Margaux had the opportunity, thanks to his parents' transfer, to live for four years on Reunion Island. It was an experience rich in discoveries. On the one hand, she explored her sporting side by taking up athletics with a local club and hiking trails to admire the island's diverse landscapes. She also dived in the waters of Mauritius, broadening her aquatic horizons.
Margaux additionally took the opportunity to go on a humanitarian trip to Madagascar for a week with her school. It was a deeply enriching experience, allowing her to meet local people, immerse herself in their culture and understand their way of life. Margaux helped build a dispensary with a group of ten motivated people selected for this trip. Prior to their departure, they spent a year selling sweets to pupils at their school to raise funds for Father Pedro's charity, to which they gave their support.
On her return, Margaux was deeply affected by this experience, which completely transformed her perception of the world and made her realise how lucky she was to be so well supported by so many people. Running has become a regular part of her daily routine, allowing her to clear her mind and stay active throughout the week. With this in mind, she joined the gym where she works so that she can exercise even more regularly.
