Magali Houguet

Magali Houguet will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s her story:

Magali is a passionate History/Geography/Moral and Civic Education teacher who is deeply committed to her profession. In 2021, she even co-authored the “Generation 2024” application for her school, demonstrating her commitment to promoting Olympic values among her students. Her main mission is to instil a love of learning in her students, by encouraging them to see their projects through to the end and launching innovative initiatives.

In addition to her commitment to education, Magali has a passion for sport and physical challenges. In 2024, she plans to take part in Batirun – a mixed running race in Senegal – demonstrating her desire to push herself beyond her limits. She also ran the “La Loire à vélo” (The Loire by Bike) project with her year 10 class, where they travelled the region for four days, stopping at culturally significant points along the way. She has also helped set up a women's football team at her school. Magali embodies the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect. She believes sport has the power to help young people surpass themselves, discover their strengths and take on challenges together, encouraging personal discovery and allowing people to share enriching experiences.
