**Lorene Rousseau will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story: **

Solidarity has been part and parcel of Lorene's life since she was a teenager. When she was in high school, she brought Christmas presents to an orphanage, and as a university student, she raised funds for a charity that supports children in Senegal.

Now, she manages a solidarity group at work. Her top priority is to help out her local community, but they also take part in national initiatives such as the Téléthon. Always on the lookout for new ways of helping those around her, Lorene discovered a charity that provides Christmas boxes for those in need and another that assists women looking for emergency housing due to domestic troubles.

Following an accident that left her on the sidelines for a while, Lorene also joined a disabled basketball club to help disabled people find partners to play with. She also signed up teams representing her business for a disabled basketball company challenge to raise funds and spread the message about the challenges faced by people with reduced mobility.

Finally, Lorene believes in being there for others. Her guiding principle is giving without expecting anything in return.
