Kevin Piette will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

Kevin the is the embodiment of sporting commitment, the desire for a more inclusive society and the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, with infectious energy! In spite of the accident that left him a paraplegic 11 years ago, Kevin has not thrown in the towel. Instead, he returned to tennis as a para-athlete and became an exoskeleton ‘pilot’ for a company developing a robotic walking device.

As one of the first testers, he has contributed to its improvement, even taking part in ‘cybathlons’, which are competitions in which people with disabilities use assistive technologies to carry out everyday activities. Currently used in rehabilitation, a personal version of the exoskeleton is being developed at present to enable greater independence at home. By carrying the Olympic Torch, Kevin inspires people to get involved in sport and promote innovation for the disabled!
