Karine Losio

Karine Losio will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s her story:

Faster, higher, stronger. These three inspiring core values – symbolised by the Olympic Torch – are shared by the global shipping company Karine works for. As director of a port handling company responsible for the dockers – and consequently the handling of the ships in the Port of Guadeloupe – she is one link in the global human chain working to supply more than 160 countries. 

Every day is a challenge where she has to demonstrate initiative, integrity, imagination and a bold attitude to ensure that ships are loaded and unloaded on time and in compliance with regulations. Karine’s job involves working alongside men and women from a wide variety of backgrounds, whether they be members of her own staff or seagoing personnel. She encourages her staff to carry out their tasks with mutual respect and with the aim of achieving excellence in their performance. This former athletics competitor sees her job as a relay race, where each runner must do their utmost to achieve the collective goal with a team-focused mindset.
