Karine Benaddi will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:

Karine obtained her certification as a workplace first-aid representative with an American multinational specialised in cleaning products which is a corporate partner of the Paris 2024 Games. In 2021, she took the decision to take workplace first-aid tutor training. Her aim was not only to join her company’s team of trainers but also to join the “UNASS Somm’Oise” association, which is dedicated to first aid training, rescue operations and solidarity initiatives.

The prospect of training her colleagues or the children at an activity centre, in the hope of saving lives, is a source of immense pride for her. As well as the personal satisfaction that this activity brings her, Karine attaches great importance to the human side of things. Although she had always dreamed of doing something where she could help people, fate decided otherwise.

Nevertheless, she now contributes to safety, both inside and outside her company. In 2015, Karine underwent a painful experience. It was at this point that she discovered running, which she now regards as a lifeline. After running on her own for a few months, she joined an athletics club and her performances have steadily improved, enabling her to win around fifteen podium places in her region. Running gave her back her self-confidence and taught her a valuable lesson: “You never lose. You win, or you learn”.
