Kader Rahim

Kader Rahim will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

At the age of 6 years old, Kader took his first steps in the world of handball, a choice dictated by chance that turned into a veritable passion in his life. At the time, he had no idea that he would one day become a professional. For him, handball was much more than just a sport; it was a safe place, somewhere where he could escape the difficulties of his neighbourhood and learn the precious values of sport and the Olympics.

He discovered the foundations of the man he is today in the encounters he had with his coaches and the advice they gave him. Without setting himself any boundaries, he worked relentlessly, absorbing every piece of advice and pushing himself to the limit. Over the course of his career, he has fulfilled many dreams by taking part in World Cups, African Cups and playing in the 1st Division. Despite these successes, his greatest dream, to take part in the Olympic Games, has remained out of reach. So, to have the opportunity to carry the Olympic Torch during its visit to Saint-Dizier is an immense source of pride for him and a priceless honour, shared with his family, those close to him and the coaches who have seen him grow up.
