Julien Kamel

Julien Kamel will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s his story:

Julien Kamel has tried out a variety of sports over the years, including karate, football and English boxing, inspired by his father who managed a sports club. In addition to this personal passion, his commitment to the world of sport is rooted in his career. After studying business law and completing an internship at Olympique de Marseille, he seized the opportunity to join the club, where he held a number of positions including assistant stadium manager and sports zone manager.

He then joined a company specialised in sports events organisation, where he spent four years helping to plan and manage various competitions, including marathons, triathlons (including the Ironman), running and cycling races, and other large-scale events. For Julien, the Olympics represents both a personal and professional achievement. Taking part as an Olympic Torchbearer is an absolute dream for him. He has always been determined to use his skills to help bring these types of events to fruition across France, a mission he is still pursuing today by working with his current company, GL events, a partner company of the Paris 2024 Games.
