Julien Bartoli 

Julien Bartoli will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

Julien is a perfect embodiment of Olympic Values. At the age of 45 years, he is still a keen athlete, since embracing running as a 7-year-old boy. His career is a testament to his extraordinary determination and dedication, constantly pushing back his own limits to achieve excellence. In spite of his family responsibilities and his demanding job as logistics technician with Air France, a partner of the 2024 Paris Games, Julien manages to juggle the different aspects of his life brilliantly.

In the Laser Run event, the ultimate event in the modern pentathlon, he became a double world champion, with the individual and team titles, in Lisbon in 2022, then repeated the feat in Bath, England, the following year. In addition, he has three European championship titles to his name, in the individual, team and mixed relay events, which he won in Erding, Germany, in 2023. As well as his exceptional sporting achievements, Julien has had a positive impact on his community. By actively encouraging participation in sport and conveying fundamental values such as perseverance, discipline and teamwork he inspires and guides those around him towards excellence and self-improvement.
