Jeanne Salle will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:
Jeanne, a 21-year-old student, embodies the alliance between passion for sport and commitment to solidarity. She is currently a handball player and plays a key role in her university’s sports club, where she is in charge of a section. Proof of her energy is reflected in the organisation of a number of sporting events, including a charity race in aid of leukaemia charity Leucémie Espoir.
This initiative, which aims to raise awareness of bone marrow donation, has met with growing success in Rennes, bringing together 250 participants in 2022 and 350 in 2023, enabling 120 new donors to be recorded in the registers. Furthermore, Jeanne took charge of a parasport initiation in 2023 and recently devoted several months to a charity project in Greece, focusing on hippotherapy for people with
disabilities. For her, carrying the Olympic Torch is an honour, symbolising her commitment to the values of inclusion, solidarity and surpassing oneself that the Olympic Games represent.
