Jean-Paul Imbert will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s his story:

Jean-Paul is a keen cyclist who has turned his passion into an inspiring initiative. Founder of the Cyclotandem Vaucluse club within the “Valentin Hüy” Association, he has paved the way for visually impaired people like himself to take up cycling. Today, the club, which is affiliated to the FFH (French Disabled Sport Federation), has over 40 licensed members and organises monthly outings as well as trips across France and Belgium.

In 2024, Cyclotandem Vaucluse will be taking on the ambitious challenge of linking Marseille to Paris for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the finish scheduled for 27 August 2024. The aim of Jean-Paul and his group of riders and visually impaired people is to share the joy and values of sport, promote adapted sport and immerse themselves in the celebratory atmosphere of the Olympics and Paralympics. Carrying the Torch and attending the opening ceremony of the Paralympics is a dream come true for Jean-Paul.
