Géraldine Turpin will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:

Géraldine has made a determined commitment to an association dedicated to bringing comfort to sick children. “Les Clowns de l'Espoir” (the clowns of hope) is the embodiment of this generous initiative, in which hospital clowns from the Hauts-de-France region bring tenderness and humour to the paediatric wards. Their mission is to brighten the day-to-day lives of little patients, their families and care staff by spreading smiles and affection. Alongside her volunteer friends, Géraldine is fully committed to various initiatives aimed at raising funds to pay the professionals trained to work with sick children.

As a primary school teacher, she passionately transfers this team spirit, sharing and generosity to her pupils. For her, the values conveyed by the Olympic Games, such as team spirit, sharing, fraternity and living harmoniously together, resonate deeply with her own convictions. For Géraldine, sport is a unifying element that brings people together, just like giving your time for others. She is convinced of the importance of instilling this spirit of solidarity in young people on a daily basis, so that they can collectively contribute to building a better world, characterised by compassion and mutual support.
