Paris, Day 1

François Dautzenberg will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

François is head of the departmental sailing committee in Val-de-Marne and proudly promotes three major ambitions. Firstly, he is fully committed to para-sport, offering discovery sessions as well as intensive training for competitors, with regattas across France and even national and world championships for crews. Secondly, he makes it a point of honour to promote inclusion through sport.

His committee is developing programmes to get people back into work through sport, helping participants find jobs in the maritime and river sectors, while also offering training as monitors. Furthermore, he strives to make sailing accessible to all, especially young people from priority urban neighbourhoods. Finally, François has set up a sports school section open to all, without distinction. The aim of this initiative is to encourage the practice of sailing in an inclusive environment, where everyone can flourish and develop their skills, whatever their level or background.
