Florian Tournebise will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s his story:

Florian loves sport, and firmly believes that the Olympics embodies the values of unity, peace and excellence that drive him. For him, carrying the Olympic Torch is much more than just an experience: it's the realisation of a dream. Alongside his passion for sport, Florian devotes a large part of his time fighting homophobia. As a goalkeeper for London-based inclusive club Stonewall FC, he uses his voice to defend inclusion and respect within the sporting community.

Convinced of the transformative power of sport, he works tirelessly to break down the prejudices and barriers that persist all too often. Florian is also committed to raising awareness of blind football and disability in sport. Working alongside famous players such as Yvan Wouandji of the French Blind Football team, he runs workshops aimed at popularising this little-known discipline. As a future Olympic Torchbearer, Florian sees this experience as a unique chance to celebrate the power of sport, but above all to promote fundamental values such as inclusion, diversity and respect.
