Fanny Desplaces will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:
Since her childhood, Fanny has always been enthused by the values of sport and the happiness it provides. It plays a vital role in her own balance. At the age of just 2 years old, she tried on her first skis and this passion has remained with her since. Later in life, competitive tennis offered her the enjoyment of thrills shared as a team. At the age of 23 years old, she discovered ski touring via the multi-generational association “Crapahut”, in which volunteer instructors give everyone the chance to try out this sport.
Despite a car accident at the age of 25 years old, as well as other trials and tribulations, including an auto-immune disease, a bout of long Covid and asthma, Fanny never gives up. She takes an active part in many ski touring outings and succeeds in attracting new members to the association. She is also embarking on a two-year training course to become a volunteer guide, in order to perpetuate the tradition and make the sport accessible to as many people as possible.
