Esther Giraud

Esther Giraud will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Esther is an early childhood educator. She works with children in foster care, striving daily to instil fundamental values such as kindness, respect, camaraderie, honesty and fairness. As a regular runner, she knows that these values go hand in hand with sport. Esther often takes part in races organised by local authorities or charities, intertwining her sporting commitment with her involvement in community life and causes close to her heart.

She also spurs on her colleagues to push their boundaries in both the professional and the sporting realms. Esther motivates them to join her on the track and break a sweat. In the same vein, Esther motivates the young people she mentors to dive into sports by enrolling them in local clubs or organising events at their homes. She stands out as a paragon of perseverance, bravery and commitment. She champions a society rooted in solidarity, inclusivity and dynamism where everyone has the chance to flourish. Esther will shine as a beacon of these values when she holds the Olympic torch aloft.
