Emma Reymond will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:
At the tender age of 21, Emma is part of the French national deaf badminton team. She has already won multiple titles in the French championship and claimed medals in the European championships. However, she has more than one arrow in her quiver, as she also plays with non-disabled people regularly, forging an extremely important connection from her point of view. Her participation in the Deaflympics is testament to her unwavering commitment.
Emma was the first deaf badminton player to be selected for a French national excellence centre and the first one to win a title in a European deaf badminton championship. Her career is the perfect illustration of Coubertin's spirit. On top of her successes in the realm of sport, Emma is the living embodiment of the desire to push the limits, move forward no matter what and always raise the bar.
She is fully involved in community life in her club, league committee and federation. Emma shares her experience and takes part in a wide range of initiatives to support disabled people in schools, local authorities and businesses.
