Didier Brassart will carry the Olympic torch. This is his story:
Didier started to volunteer at all national and international swimming competitions between 2012 and 2018. Concurrently, he generously gave his time as a volunteer at the 2015 French Track Cycling Championships and served as the technical lead for the French Underwater Sports Championships from 2014 to 2016. He also volunteered at a national artistic swimming competition in 2018 and contributed to the French UNSS Underwater Sports Championships in 2019, 2020 and 2022.
Since 2014, Didier has been an active member of the Departmental Diving Committee, taking charge of organising training sessions and overseeing the retraining of technicians responsible for inspecting diving cylinders. His dedication also led him to become a prominent member of the board of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS 28) in 2016, eventually taking on the role of General Secretary in 2020. He has also played an instrumental role in establishing a partnership agreement between a disabled sports association (boccia) and a business.
Throughout these periods, Didier has continued to engage in activities with his diving club. For the past 24 months, he has been visiting the pool twice a week, making three round trips to fill diving cylinders for training sessions. His dedication and well-rounded profile are a true asset to the local sports community.
