Delphine Lau

Delphine Lau will carry the Olympic Torch. This is her story:

Delphine is a committed businesswoman and manager, whose professional career and personal path command admiration. Originally from a priority neighbourhood, she has overcome many obstacles to become the co-founder of a brand of innovative, practical and sustainable furniture. Her company stands out thanks to its strong commitment to sustainability as well as corporate and social responsibility (CSR), giving priority to supplies that are ‘Made in France’ and choosing materials with a low carbon impact.

Her personal story is also remarkable: she was seriously burnt at the age of 5 years and had to struggle to experience normal schooling and find her place in society. Her courage and determination earned her a win in the start-up competition organised by a gender equality initiative in 2022. In tandem with her entrepreneurial activities, Delphine is involved in the SSE (Social and Solidarity Economy) team's work on the Ile-de-France Charter for Corporate Citizenship. Furthermore, her company will supply no less than 18,000 stools for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, illustrating her commitment to major events and the excellence of French manufacturing.
