Corinne Dartus will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:
Corinne is one of those unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes to enhance the lives of people with autism and their families. For many years, she has been at the helm of Association Vivre avec l'autisme (AVAA) 32, a cause she champions with unwavering dedication. Her dedication is a blend of strength, courage, perseverance and kindness, all wrapped in modesty.
Her latest initiative, the Atypiquement vôtre mutual support group, is set on empowering adults with autism to find their place within society. Corinne has been instrumental in guaranteeing that these adults can engage in a range of sporting activities every week through partnerships with several local organisations and sports clubs. For her, this sporting inclusion is a significant endeavour, a way to integrate these individuals through the power of sport. She now pours her heart into the future development of inclusive housing for adults with autism. Her courage is nothing short of remarkable. As the mother of Aaron, a 32-year-old man with autism, she has successfully instilled in him a passion for sports despite the challenges he has faced.
