Christian Vivet

Christian Vivet will carry the Olympic torch. This is his story:

Christian, a former Sports Director, has truly transformed his home town with a slew of youth-centric sporting events and initiatives to boost sports participation, ranging from sports camps to the City Raid Andros and the Jean Bouin j'y cours. Having once coached table tennis, notably for the French under-13 team in his youth, he continues to impart his knowledge by coaching both the young and the young at heart. He volunteers his time, particularly during the summer with the sports caravan.

His dedication was recognised with the French Volunteer of the Year medal in 2015. A true sports enthusiast, he works hard to champion Olympic values among a wide range of audiences, reaching out to correctional facilities and schools alike. Every year, he organises events featuring table tennis stars from the French team, including Emmanuelle Lebesson, Jia Nan Yuan, the Lebrun brothers and the late Jacques Secrétin.

As an athlete, Christian boasts three French youth champion titles and continues to compete in Regional 1 team matches, a pursuit close to his heart. For these remarkable contributions, Christian will have the honour of carrying the Olympic torch.
