Christian Cabantous

Christian Cabantous will carry the Olympic torch. This is his story:

Christian, a karateka since age 18, has steadily risen through the ranks and earned the prestigious 7th dan in 2022. This accomplished athlete and fierce competitor soon found his calling in teaching. Driven by a desire to pass on his knowledge, technique and ethos of respect with younger generations, he leveraged his educator credentials and put his BPJEPS diploma in karate to good use.

Beyond the dojo, Christian is also a champion for health through sport and sports therapy. In 2010, he stepped up to become an instructor with CAMI Sport & Cancer, a charity that uses sports therapy to support cancer patients. Its programmes help alleviate treatment side effects, boost remission rates, minimise relapse risks and enhance quality of life.
