Carla Rapicano will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Carla, world champion in adapted para-swimming and a top-level athlete, has Down's Syndrome. Her disability seems to disappear as soon as she goes out to compete with the French team. That's when she forgets her shyness and steps out of her bubble. At the 2023 Global Games, Carla won no fewer than five medals, four gold and one silver. As her category is not represented at the Games, carrying the Olympic Flame represents much more than a simple symbolic gesture for Carla. It's a way of contributing, in her own way, to the Paris 2024 Games.
