Carine Courtois

Carine Courtois will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Carine is a determined woman, always eager to push her physical, technical and intellectual boundaries. Sport has been central to her life from an early age. It has been her companion and healer and enabled her to navigate the pandemic alone, emerging with an even greater zest for challenges such as the GR20 footpath, the Queyras circuit and exploring the beautiful Ariège near Toulouse with friends. Carine has always found immense joy, warmth and camaraderie in these big sporting gatherings. The environment holds significant sway in her life too. She launched a communal composting scheme in her neighbourhood with a view to changing habits and strengthening the ties among neighbours, countering loneliness through this joint action.
