Baba Ahmed Ould Kher 

Baba Ahmed Ould Kher will carry the Olympic Torch. This is his story:

Baba Ahmed represented Mauritania as an athlete at the university Olympics in Buffalo in 1989, in New York State in the USA. He has been based in France for over 20 years and works as an educator specialising in prevention as well as promoting sport as an essential educational tool. At the age of 57 years, he has completed the two most recent Paris half marathons, crossing the finishing line each time with a finisher’s medal around his neck.
