Aude Mounet will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:
A former rhythmic gymnastics champion in her category, Aude has dedicated fifteen years to nurturing young talent at a club, both as a coach and as a national judge. At age 30, serious health issues forced her to step back from the mats for a decade. Aude has shown remarkable resilience and profound courage in the face of adversity, proving to her loved ones that nothing came before her fight for life.
She is the living embodiment of the Olympic motto: "Faster, Higher, Stronger". Now free from health concerns, she now battles for women's rights and health day in, day out. Stepping up as a volunteer in a club grappling with a shortage of coaches and no budget for compensation, Aude took on the challenge with gusto, drawing respect from her peers. She exudes love and kindness, combining a serious approach to her work with the mental strength to lead others and inspire them to push the envelope.
The Olympic torch burns bright within Aude, inspiring her to don the beautiful blue jersey and the symbolic tricolore flag whenever a French team embarks on a quest for glory. She trots around the globe to cheer for France, from the rugby team in New Zealand and Alpine skiing in Switzerland to biathlon in Norway and basketball in Lille. She had even made arrangements to travel to the Tokyo Olympics, but the pandemic frustrated her plans.
