Antonella Brugnola

Antonella Brugnola will carry the Olympic Torch. Here’s her story:

61-year-old Milan-based entrepreneur Antonella has always been passionate about sport, despite not being a competitive athlete. She enjoys a variety of activities, including running, yoga, skiing and sailing. Her interest in sport is shared by her husband – a former marathon runner, tennis player and sailor – and their son, who has a highly positive approach to physical activity.

Carrying the Olympic Torch means several things to Antonella. Firstly, it will allow her to play an active role in a global event despite not being a professional athlete. But it is also a way of supporting a universally recognised symbol that represents life, rationalism, freedom and creativity, values that she strives to put into practice. Finally, it will provide her with a motivating goal to continue training and giving her all.
