Alixan Gojowczyk

Alixan Gojowczyk will carry the Olympic torch. This is his story:

Alixan has been mad about sport since he was a child. He has dabbled in disciplines as diverse as tennis, judo, cycling, football, handball and, especially, basketball, which he practises both on and off the court, as he has also served as a coach, as a scorer and as a timekeeper. Alixan, a nursing student at the Red Cross, an organisation he admires for its humanitarian engagement around the globe, sees his future profession as a commitment to sick people, be it in France or during humanitarian missions in underprivileged countries.

He knows what he wants: to dedicate his life to helping others. He is proud to be part of the medical community and inspired by the top-flight French and international athletes who make huge sacrifices for the sake of sport. France hosting the Olympic Games fills him with pride. Alixan is also deeply honoured to have been chosen as an Olympic torchbearer.
