Agnès Cortambert will carry the Olympic torch. This is her story:

Agnès is a standout for her dedication to environmental protection in her private life and her professional career. Her involvement in a challenge set by the Local Energy and Climate Agency (ALEC), by putting together a team in her municipality, speaks volumes of her dedication to reducing her community's ecological footprint. She rallied other people around a collective goal to slash energy and water use by a 10% against a prior winter reference period.

Her leadership and organisational skills have brought together a motivated group, holding regular meetings to exchange eco-friendly practices, behavioural changes and recycling ideas. The outcome was highly gratifying on the energy front, showing a 9.4% dip in usage. As for water, the team clinched second place in the Lyon metropolitan area and third at the national level, with a 23.7% reduction.
