The French Volleyball Federation (FFVolley), founded in 1936, aims to organise, promote and develop volleyball and its related disciplines, beach volleyball and sitting volleyball. Volleyball is one of the five biggest sports in the world, with more than 260 million players.
Beach volleyball pits two teams of two players against each other on a sand court, while seated volleyball is a Paralympic discipline in which the players sit on the ground. Presided by Eric Tanguy, the FFVolley organises international and national competitions and oversees the implementation of training programmes, as well as promotional, introductory and detection operations for all members of society. The FFVolley has 13 leagues, 84 committees, 1,377 clubs and over 200,000 members.
