The French Archery Federation (FFTA) was founded in 1899 and has 75,000 members in 1,600 clubs. The proportion of women members continues to rise, and currently exceeds 35%. Since April 2022, the FFTA has been delegated to manage Para archery.

The main objective for 2024 is of course the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, with the goal of winning at least one medal in one of the five events at the Olympic Games as well as the Paralympic Games. The team Relays will be a great opportunity to highlight archery, its history and its values, and to encourage the French people to support our athletes in their quest for medals.

Taking part in the Torch Relay will be an unforgettable experience for each team member. For archery, it is an honour to be part of it. We are going to experience great emotions with our members during the Relay and the Games, having pleasure and sharing that pleasure!

Oise, at the heart of the archery region, is a department that is highly symbolic of the history and tradition of archery, which will be present in the staging of the Relay. The department has 73 archery clubs, most of which are located in small villages.

The Archers de Compiègne club has state of-the-art facilities, enabling it to be a Games Preparation Centre and regularly host national and international events. The club is presided by Philippe Bouclet, former President of the FFTA from 2001 to 2017, who will captain this team Relay with Guillaume Toucoullet, one of our best hopes of a medal at the Paralympic Games.

It is an honour, a dream for anyone who loves sport and Olympism, to carry the Flame, and the crowning achievement of my career as a sports leader. I am proud to lead this team of Torchbearers, chosen for their dedication. Sharing this moment with Guillaume Toucoullet is also a very powerful symbol.
