SHANGHAI – Comments from Japan’s Yoshizawa Coco after finishing third in the Skateboarding Women's Street Final at the OQS Shanghai on Sunday.
Yoshizawa Coco – Japan
On finishing third, scoring 257.73 points:
“First of all, I’m very happy to get third place. It really was a good competition, a tough battle. I can see all my rivals have leveled up and I have actually also leveled up myself.
“For the next competition, I am aiming for even higher scores. I will definitely try and develop myself before that."
On what she feels most proud of:
“The first thing is that I got really good points in the run section (84.04). The other thing is that I can trust myself under great pressure. I know that I can do my best and do a good competition.”
On how she dealt with the pressure:
“The best way to beat the pressure is just to know that there are a lot of people supporting me, loving me.
“I also try not to think about beating others, but try and think about beating myself.
“The best way to beat the pressure is just to visualise the best trick I can do. Doing that makes me super confident that I’ll be able to make the trick."
