In much of the world, the end of the year and the beginning of the new one are times of festivity, with many different celebrations taking place. But what do all these celebrations have in common? They're a chance to wear nice clothes, make yourself look good and enjoy yourself along with friends and family.
It isn’t always easy to find the perfect outfit, but worry not! Athletes from the past and present are ready to inspire you with the outfits, haircuts and accessories they wore at the Olympics.
In the seventh part of this series, we come back to the pure style of the 'unbeatable' Ed Moses and his iconic dark glasses.
You might know Ed Moses as the man who won two Olympic gold medals in the 400m hurdles. He was undefeated in 122 consecutive races, 107 of those being finals, between August 1977 and June 1987 - that's almost 10 years without a single loss! Moses also took only 13 steps between each hurdle, as opposed to the habitual 14-step technique - an unprecedented skill which is now used by the new 400m hurdles star Karsten Warholm from Norway, a favourite for a medal at Tokyo 2020.
But beyond his sporting talents, Moses is known for something else: his trademark dark sunglasses. During his career, he used to compete with super stylish sunglasses that made him look like a rock star on the track. The most iconic pair may be the ones he wore at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games, where he won bronze.
Fun fact: He didn't just wear glasses on the athletics track. As his wife Myrella recalled in a 1984 Washington Post article, he was not very athletic when he was a student.
"He was the skinny little kid with the glasses on who was the smartest guy in the class. One of those."
