Wrestling Olympic champion Erica Wiebe rediscovered her best form to win the Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series event in Rome, Italy.
The Canadian, who qualified for Tokyo 2020 by winning the Pan American Championships, made a disappointing semi-final exit from the Individual World Cup in December 2020.
But Wiebe was back to her aggressive and accurate best on on Friday (5 March), as she outclassed Egypt's Samar Hamza 10-0 to win the women's 76kg final.
It was a good day for Canada, with Michelle Fazzari earlier edging Hungarian grappler Marianna Sastin 2-1 to win gold in the 62kg division.
Olympic Channel spoke to Wiebe as part of the 'What Moves Me' series to find out how she overcame social stigmas in pursuit of an Olympic gold medal. You can view her episode below.
Elsewhere in Rome, world champion Tamyra Mensah-Stock of the USA outclassed Mimi Hristova of Bulgaria 11-0 in the 68kg category, while Brazil's Giullia Rodrigues defeated India's Sarita Sarita 4-2 at 57kg.
