India will be one of the nine nations participating in the Women’s Softball Asia Cup 2023, scheduled from April 2 to 8 in Incheon, South Korea. The matches will be live streamed.

The continental event, being played at the LNG Sports Town, will be the last qualifying tournament for the XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, which will take place in July next year in Europe. The top three teams from the Asia Cup will qualify for the 17th WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup.

Besides India, ranked 53rd in the world, Japan (world No. 2), Chinese Taipei (world No. 3), China (world No. 13), Philippines (world No. 30), Korea (world No. 35), Hong Kong China (world No. 38), Singapore (world No. 42) and Thailand (world No. 46) will compete for the Asian title.

India will open their campaign against Chinese Taipei on Sunday (April 2), and then play China in their second match of the day.

The teams will play each other in a round-robin format in the first stage. The top four sides in the standings will then progress to the semi-finals.

In the last four, the first-placed team will face off against the fourth-placed side while the team that finished second will take on the third-placed nation on April 7.

The two teams that will lose in the semi-finals will play in the bronze medal game. The third-place match will be played on April 8. The final will be held later on the same day followed by the award ceremony.
