Two of the best women’s international football sides in the world are gearing up to face each other in a friendly game that will be anything but.
Paris 2024 Olympic gold medallists the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) will take on the reigning European champions England on Saturday, 30 November.
History favours the Americans when it comes to this blockbuster fixture, having won 12 of the 19 previous meetings between the two.
The Lionesses have been on the winning side on five occasions, while just two draws have been contested. One of those rare victories came in their last encounter back in October 2022, which England won 2-1.
It will be a special moment for USA head coach Emma Hayes, whose Wembley homecoming marks the first time she has managed on English soil since leaving Chelsea earlier this year.
