Viktor Axelsen has made history by winning the BWF China Open for the first time.
The Danish star has become the first men's singles player to win ALL BWF Super 1000 tournaments establishing himself as one of the most decorated players in badminton history.
Axelsen clinched the Super 1000 Grand Slam by defeating Lu Guang Zu of People’s Republic of China in the final.
The 29-year-old has 21 BWF World Tour titles to his name, ten of them are Super 1000 tournaments.
On top of that, the current world number one has two secured two world titles and Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020.
