Triathlon World Cup Valencia 2024: Preview, full schedule, and how to watch live action

The Triathlon World Cup Valencia 2024 takes place on 14 September as more than 2,000 athletes prepare for the course located in the Marina of Valencia.

The Marina of Valencia will be active with excitement on 14-15 of September as more than 2,000 athletes, including many Olympians and Paralmypians, compete for glory in the Triathlon World Cup Valencia 2024.

The beauty of the marina creates the perfect ambience and scenery for an intense race featuring a 750m swim that leads into 19.2km of cycling and concludes with a 5km run to the finish line.This event has been known to attract elite triathletes from around the globe for this reason and this rendition will be no different.

Athletes to watch at Triathlon World Cup Valencia 2024

While the Triathlon World Cup always attracts so many elite athletes with intriguing stories, several stand out heading into this year’s event.

Lisa Tertsch is one of these names, coming off a gold medal for Germany in the Olympic triathlon mixed relay at Paris 2024. The 25-year-old also won gold in the mixed relay at the 2024 World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships and won the Triathlon World Cup Valencia in 2022.

Tyler Mislawchuk is also coming off a strong performance at Paris 2024, though he was not able to podium in the triathlon. The three-time Olympian from Canada finished in ninth place after pushing his body to the limit in his pursuit of gold. The 30-year-old will look to use this experience in Paris to propel him to victory in Valencia.

Another name to monitor is Nicola Azzano of Italy, who most recently won the mixed relay and elite men's event at the 2024 Europe Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships Balikesir. Antonio Serrat Seoane is also looking to build on his appearance in the mixed relay at Paris 2024 where Spain finished ninth.

Anahi Alvarez Corral of Mexico took home silver in Valencia in 2022 and is now looking to secure gold in 2024. The 23-year-old is best known for her spriting prowess. Solveig Lovseth of Norway is also a name to monitor after competing in both the women’s triathlon and mixed relay at Paris 2024.
