Fred Kerley led a USA medal sweep in the men's 100m on the second day of the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, to send the Hayward Field crowd into raptures on Saturday (16 July).
It marked two golds in a matter of minutes for the host nation, after Chase Ealey clinched women's shot put gold moments before.
China also won their first gold of the Championships as Wang Jianan stunned Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou in the final round of attempts in the men's long jump.
Earlier in the morning, Letesenbet Gidey set the fastest time in the world this year to take the women's 10,000m, while Pawel Fajdek extended his World Championships winning streak to five in the men's hammer throw.
