India have the opportunity to add as many as four medals to their Tokyo Olympics tally on Saturday.

The Rio 2016 silver medallist PV Sindhu will be facing Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final of the women’s badminton singles. The world champion from India thwarted a spirited Akane Yamaguchi in the quarter-final. A win for PV Sindhu will assure her of a gold or silver while a loss will lead her to the bronze medal match.

Boxer Pooja Rani can also assure herself a bronze medal if she wins the women’s middleweight (75kg) quarter-final bout against Li Qian of China. Welterweight pugilist Lovlina Borgohain has already booked a place in the last-four and added a medal to her name on Friday.

The No. 1 seed in the men’s flyweight (52kg) division, Amit Panghal will open his Tokyo Olympics campaign in the first boxing bout of the day against Colombia’s Yuberjen Martinez.

The lone remaining Indian archer at Tokyo 2020, Atanu Das will also be in action against Japan’s Takaharu Furukawa in the men’s individual event.

Shooters Tejaswini Sawant and Anjum Moudgil will take aim in the women’s rifle 3 positions event on Saturday. They will need to qualify for the final.
